How projects work, what we need from you, what to expect, and the stuff people usually ask before starting.

These cover the questions most makers ask before their first project. If yours is not here, email us — and once the Studio opens, you'll be able to ask right inside your project too.

> GETTING_STARTED
Do you do one-off prints and small custom orders? Available now

Yes. One-off parts, specialty builds, replacements, and small runs are what this shop is built for. We are not an industrial service with a $500 minimum and we are not a print farm pumping out the same file a hundred times. You bring a problem, we make the part.

Do I need a 3D model ready? Available now

Right now, yes — ordering runs on print-ready files (STL, PLY, OBJ, 3MF). Upload one on the Instant Quote page and get a price immediately. But not for long: the Studio, our AI design service, turns graph-paper sketches, photos of the broken original, calipers measurements, or a plain description into a printable model. It's in final testing and coming soon.

Can you work from images or references instead of a 3D file? Coming soon

That is exactly what the Studio is built for — a photo, a sketch, the broken piece, a rough outline — and it is coming soon. When it opens, you describe what the part needs to do, we ask follow-up questions about fit and use, and the design takes shape from there. Until then, ready-to-print files get instant quotes.

> FILES_AND_MODELS
What file types do you accept? Available now

STL, OBJ, 3MF, and GLB. 3MF and STL are the easiest to work with. If your file is in something else or you only have images, send it anyway. We can usually work with what you have.

Can you fix or clean up a file before printing?

Yes, when it is reasonable. Scaling, minor mesh repairs, adjusting wall thickness for strength, orientation changes for better print quality. Bigger redesigns get flagged with an estimate before anything moves forward. No hidden cleanup charges.

Can you print any file I send?

Not automatically. Every file gets eyes on it for fit tolerance, wall thickness, overhangs, strength, and whether the material you asked for makes sense for the job. If something is likely to fail or cost more than it should, we tell you before we print.

> STUDIO_AND_QUOTES
How does Studio work? Coming soon

Studio is the guided project workflow. You start from text, a reference image, or a file. You see what we come back with, approve the version you want, accept the terms, and submit. That triggers final review and a quote. One place to track a project from idea to part in hand.

Can I get a quote without approving the model first? Coming soon

Not in the full Studio flow. Approval and terms come before we quote. Approving does not commit you to anything and does not create a production order. It just locks in which design version the quote is based on so we are pricing the right thing.

Does approving the design mean I already bought it? Coming soon

No. Approval is for quote review, not payment and not a production order. Nothing prints, nothing ships, and nothing charges until you accept the quote we send back.

Can I make changes after review starts? Coming soon

Usually, yes. Tweaks to a bracket's mounting hole, a slight scale change, or a material swap are easy. Bigger design shifts can create a new version to review and may change the quote. We flag that early so there are no surprises.

> MATERIALS_AND_PRODUCTION
What materials do you offer? Available now

The standard lineup: multiple forms of PLA, PETG, TPU, and ABS, plus multi-color through the H2D with dual AMS 2 Pro. Engineering materials when the project calls for them: PETG-CF, nylon, polycarbonate, ASA. And if we do not have a specific filament on hand, we order it — a few extra days to make your dream part a reality.

Do you help choose the right material?

Yes. If you tell us "holds 2kg outdoors" we pick ASA. "Vibration damping for a mount" gets TPU. "Heat near a PC" gets PETG. Most customers should not have to know the difference between PETG and ASA. That is our job.

How long does a project take? Available now

For an Instant Quote order, your delivery estimate is shown right in the order window at checkout — typically about 5–7 days. Bigger parts, multi-material prints, engineering materials, or revision cycles can run longer. Rush work is sometimes possible if the queue allows it.

Do you offer rush jobs?

Sometimes, depending on the queue and the material. If your deadline is real, say so up front. We will tell you honestly whether we can hit it. Rush work may add a fee. Rushing a print that should not be rushed is how you get a failed part, so we do not do that.

> ORDERS_AND_POLICIES
Do you ship or is this local only? Available now

Both. Based in Knoxville, Tennessee, with local pickup available if you are nearby. Most projects are online-first and ship anywhere in the United States. Mention any timing or shipping needs when you start the project so they get factored into the quote.

Can I change my order after printing starts?

No. All tweaks — size, material, color, design changes — happen in the design phase, before the job hits the printer. Once printing starts, the design is locked; that's how you get a clean, reliable part instead of a rushed compromise. Spotted a mistake right after ordering? Message us through Treatstock immediately and we'll catch it if the job hasn't started.

Do you do business or commercial work?

Yes. Small business prototypes, branded items, specialty parts, R&D proofs, and limited production runs all fit. If you are a UT Engineering team, a local engineering shop, or a small business with a specific part need, start a Studio project and we will talk scope.

Can you print fan art, branded items, or copyrighted designs?

Depends on what it is and whether you have the right to use it. We do not print Warhammer Space Marines, D&D Monster Manual creatures, or other protected IP. Original designs, licensed STLs with commercial rights, and generic fantasy/sci-fi work is fine. If you are unsure, ask first.

What if I am not sure my idea is even possible?

Send it anyway. Figuring out whether something is printable, worth designing, or better done a different way is half the conversation. That is what we are here for.
